For the 2010 DVD edition of RESF: a resistance network, we have worked out a glossary of key words heard in the films, related to France’s immigration policy. The information contained in this lexicon gives some context and details about the events recounted in the films.

RESF

The Education Without Borders Network (RESF) is an informal network made up of collectives, associations, trade unions and individuals campaigning for the regularisation of undocumented families with children going to school.
On June 26, 2004 a meeting was held at the Paris Trade Union Hall bringing together teachers, state education staff, schoolchildren’s parents, social workers, collectives, trade unions and associations with a common preoccupation: the precarious situation of undocumented young adults going to school and of undocumented families with minors going to school (from kindergarten to university). On that day, they decided to create a supporting network for these children and young people, the Education Without Borders Network (RESF). In January 2008, the network was made up of 221 organisations (associations, trade unions, political parties) including 103 local RESF collectives.
