For the 2010 DVD edition of RESF: a resistance network, we have worked out a glossary of key words heard in the films, related to France’s immigration policy. The information contained in this lexicon gives some context and details about the events recounted in the films.
BORDER POLICE (PAF)
“The Border Police (PAF in French, for “Police Aux Frontières”) carry out judicially and administratively the whole procedure regarding violations of immigration legislation on national territory. They combat illegal labour as well as the making and use of unlawful means of entry and stay on the territory (false administrative documents). The Border Police also carry out the deportation of foreigners under a warrant of expulsion.”
